We LOVE this thoughtful review of The Mansion from Terry Owen, Editor
Review

“The Mansion” by Bill Brown, narrated by Jim Patton, is a tense story about the question of whether or not evil exists and if good is more powerful. Patton’s crisp narration deftly defines the author’s various characters as the novel moves through history from 1780 to 1870, and from 1934 to present day. This well-paced historical setting separates “The Mansion” from numerous horror stories in the same genre that often give a quick explanation for a haunted house. Instead, Brown builds suspense over time and solidifies the idea that, yes, evil does exist. Brown, a retired broadcast journalist, lends credibility to the present day setting as he briefly describes modern technical recording equipment and cameras essential to the story. His novel keeps the reader hooked and wanting to keep turning the page. If you enjoy Stephen King, but would like to enjoy a novel that doesn’t become a reading marathon of 500-600 pages, you won’t be disappointed in this thriller. Bill Brown is an engaging storyteller and Jim Patton’s audiobook narration will keep you shivering.

It was amazing!

I listened to the audiobook. I really enjoyed the dialog between the characters and the fact that the history of the haunted mansion was told throughout the book. Well done, Bill! And great narration, Jim!
